Sri.P.Rajeeve, Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha moved a motion on the need to amend Section 66 A of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and this came up for discussion on December 14, 2012 during the winter session of theParliament. Further discussion of the motion took place on March 1, 2013 during the current budget session. The resolution was withdrawn By Sri.P.Rajeeve based on the assurance of Sr.Kapil Sibal, Hon'ble Minister for Communications and Information Technology that he will hold a round table consultation as soon as the Hon'ble Supreme Court delivers a judgment on the matters pending before it on S.66A.
