In an article discussing several instances of mobile network companies forcing people to link Aadhaar and deactivating their services in case they fail to furnish Aadhaar. SFLC.in views on the permissibilty of deactivations were quoted in the article.

An article co-authored by Mishi Choudhary and Eben Moglen (Chairman, Software Freedom Law Center, New York) was published on ET Tech on January 29, 2018. In context of the Government’s on-going public consultation on data protection, the article spoke about how the fundamental premise of any data protection framework must be that people should have control over their own data.

In context of the launch of virtual Aadhaar, Mishi Choudhary was quoted as saying, “What Aadhaar needs is an overhaul of its defective-by-design architecture and not stopgap measures. On January 9 another security researcher found issues in its Android app. It's not a constructive use of time and financial resources to force any inherently insecure system on the citizens.”

In an article discussing the Governmental Expert Committee’s white paper on data protection, Prasanth Sugathan (Legal Director, SFLC.in) was quoted as saying, “The problem with the white paper is that it is so dense, to make a summary of the white paper itself is a task. To start a discussion, you need to have people with an understanding of the issues involved… for that, this white paper cannot be distributed.”
