BJP MLA Sangeet Som was charged under Section 66A on 21 September, 2013 for fanning communal tensions by the U.P. Police.
Mr. Som had allegedly uploaded a fake video that played a role in provoking communal tension in Muzaffarnagar, and had made inflammatory speeches.
He was arrested on September 21 and granted bail on November 11, 2013.
